The year 2025 marked a particularly busy period in the life of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God. The Father General, Most Reverend Brother Pascal Ahodegnon, OH, together with his governing body, has been guiding the Order through the celebration of Provincial Chapters across different regions.

In 2026, attention turns to the Africa Region, which comprises two Provinces: Saint Augustine Province of Africa and Saint Richard Pampuri Province of Africa.

• Saint Augustine Province of Africa spans eight countries: Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, and Cameroon.
• The Province will celebrate its Provincial Chapter from 20th to 26th April 2026 in Accra, Ghana. After the Saint Richard Pampuri Province of Africa would follow.
• A virtual pre-chapter meeting was already held from 23rd to 24th March 2026, with 45 participants in attendance.

This is an exciting and significant moment for the Order in Africa. The Chapter will not only reflect on the life and mission of the Province but also address the envisaged restructuring of the Africa Region. It will culminate in the election of new Provincial Superiors and Councillors, marking a new chapter in leadership and service.
